Before sophisticated air conditioning and flow-through ventilation became standard, cars often featured small, triangular glass panels at the leading edge of the front door, known as vent windows or "wings." These could be cranked open to direct air into the cabin. While they provided a burst of air, their practical use was marginal, often causing a loud, buffeting noise. Their most significant flaw was the added complexity to the door, introducing another seal to leak and another mechanism to break. Modern, streamlined door designs and effective climate control made these mini-vents redundant and obsolete. 2026 © RayanWorld.com
