The foundational divergence in politics stems from differing conceptions of "The Good Life". Ancient philosophy established that political systems are ultimately attempts to organize society toward a collective goal of human flourishing. However, a consequentialist defines flourishing through measurable outcomes (like GDP), a deontologist defines it through adherence to moral duties, and a libertarian defines it through maximal individual autonomy. Since the fundamental objective of the political system is subjectively defined and disputed, the "truth" of any policy designed to achieve that objective must also remain subjective, always relative to the chosen definition of societal success.
