The Staggering Scale of Loss and Resilience Under the Shadow of Ceasefire

Despite the ceasefire, the shelter crisis remains the number one priority need. Over 90% of the population, nearly 1.9 million Palestinians, are internally displaced, having been forced to move multiple times. Many families who return to Gaza City are forced to "camp" among the ruins of their former homes or reside in inadequate makeshift shelters and tents that offer little protection from the elements, including harsh winter conditions. This mass displacement complicates any immediate restoration of community life and services.
