A central figure in this cultural movement was Farangis Yeganegi, a pioneer in Iranian social and cultural affairs and a founder of the Iran Handicrafts Organization. Coming from a prominent Zoroastrian family, Yeganegi possessed a deep understanding of rural life and the untapped potential of local crafts. She was the one who first identified the unique beauty of Osku’s Kalaghei art and introduced it to the Empress. Her strategic oversight ensured that these traditional methods were given the institutional support necessary to thrive within a modern economic and artistic framework.
