She gained her early education from Trinity High School and later attended Southern Methodist University, where she majored in English and Theatre. While at school, she was great in sports.It was in school that she was bitten by the modelling bug. Her parents took her to beauty pageants when she was just eight. In 1997, she went on to win the Miss Fort Worth pageant.
