Qatar pitches tent city to accommodate World Cup fans - for £350 a night

England fans who fork out £350-a-night to stay in World Cup tents on a sweltering beach will not be allowed to quench their thirst with a cold beer. That is because Qatar beach accommodation zones will be dry with the only drink option soft. Organisers of the tournament in the Persian Gulf state – where alcohol is strictly controlled – will lay on booze in hotels, fan zones and at grounds. But the Al Khor tented village will be alcohol-free.
