Identify your triggers. What makes these people difficult to be around? Are they constantly putting you down? Do they make you feel like you’re not good enough? Once you know what triggers their negative behavior, it will be easier to avoid them.
Listen to your intuition. If something doesn’t feel right, it probably isn’t. Pay attention to the way your body feels when around these people — if it’s tense or uncomfortable, chances are you’re not going to enjoy yourself.
