Acclaimed Vocalist Aki Banayi Dies in Los Angeles

A significant part of her early musical training took place in Iran under the tutelage of Ostad Ni Davood, who was also the vocal coach for the renowned Iranian singer Qamar al-Moluk Vaziri. She received six years of instruction from him in the Iranian musical Dastgah (modal systems), which provided a deep foundation in traditional Persian music.
