Many vitamins must be converted into an active form within the body to be effective. For instance, VitaminB12 in cheap supplements is usually in the form of "Cyanocobalamin," which the body must process, whereas the "Methylcobalamin" form is active and ready for absorption. Similarly, in the case of folate, the "Methylfolate" form is far superior to industrial "Folic Acid." Always check the label on the back of the product to find the active forms.
